So, it's official. I have become my mother. I always have a project, and much like my mom I always have multiple ones going at once. Scrapbooking of course, is an on-going project. I have more pictures and the collection keeps growing. Anyone who knows me, knows I take pictures everywhere I go. Then, I got a sewing machine for Christmas. So, I've taken up sewing. So far, I've made a bag, appliqued tee-shirts and skorts (for my best friend Shannon's girls) and a little girl's sundress, (also for Shannon's girls). I've only made the one dress because it took me so long I'm too nervous to start the second one. Now, I've taken up embroidery. I was at Francesca's (a chain store but it's like a boutique) and they had these cute little hand towels that have embroidered sayings on them. They charge $20 for them and of course I thought "$2o! I could make that!" This, is a bonafide Willma Heckman phrase. Ah! Yes, I am definitely become my mother. Oh well, I can think of a lot worse of a person I could become.
So those are all the craft projects I'm attempting. Of course, I still knit. I'm working on a cap for Kyle. It was supposed to be his Christmas present but I didn't get it finished in time. I had to make him a new one because the one I made him my mom washed not knowing it was wool and it shrunk. It now looks like the little cap Jackson wears on Gilmore or the little pink cap Meg wears on Family Guy. It's actually kinda funny! She told him she washed it because it smelled and he said "I know, it smells like Africa!" He wore it on his safari with my dad. Can I say my knitting products are internationally known?
So, those are my craft projects. Other stuff? Well, a few months I posted about joining the UDC (United Daughters of the Confederacy). Well, I have found my official relative, and have officially been voted in. I am now just waiting to have my paperwork filed. So excited! Next Saturday, I'm in a Civil War fashion show that is part of a living history event in Knoxville. I'll be sure to post pics, my outfit is fab. I would've been completely comfortable living in the 1860's. Hoops are so fun!
