Of course, I have attempted (successfully and not so successfully) to make some of the things I've seen on Pinterest:
My mom's friend Donna actually made this out of a plate from the first set of dishes I had in college and a candlestick. Not sure if she got the idea from Pinterest or not, but I've seen it on there!
Wreaths with some school spirit! From right to left is the order in which I made them. Ole Miss for the hubby, UT for me, and Clemson for C's grandmom. His granddad graduated from there and she loves rooting fo the Tigers.
Breakfast muffins. These were great when I was doing the fat flush with bootcamp. Eggs, spinach, red bell pepper and bacon. Baked them all one Sunday night and ate on them all week.
Christmas tree skirt. This was TIME CONSUMING! But, it was super simple. And it was a no-dew project. Hot glue and fabric glue, burlap and ticking.
No, this wasn't for V Day. Just a random Saturday. Our dear friend, Mrs. Candy told me how to cook bacon in the oven. (Side note: this is my favorite way to cook it now! You don't stink up the whole house and when you're done you just throw away the tin foil with the grease in it. Easy peasy!) So, I saw on Pinterest where they bent the bacon into hearts. I decided it wouldn't be hard to spell out words. All men love bacon, especially mine. What guy wouldn't want a love letter written in bacon?!
This is a candycane, or at least that was my intent. This is one of those times where you see the Pinterest pic of what it's supposed to turn out like and what yorus turned out like. To see the inspiration for it go here.
However, this turned out pretty perfect! Pancakes with green food coloring in the batter, made smaller and smaller and stacked to look like a Christmas tree. I shaped a little pat of butter into a star and dusted woth powdered sugar.
I always have at least one pumpkin I don't carve to decorate with through the whole autumn season. So, in December when it hadn't rotted out a Christmas pumpkin was born!
Valentine's gift for C. All the places we've been together cut out from an old road atlas I had in my car.
Even the hubby was inspired by Pinterest. On V Day, he gave me a bag of Starbursts with a note that said "I'm just bursting with joy that you're my Valentine."
And as a wedding gift, my sweet friend Aimee made us a Christmas ornament with our invitation inside. What a great gift and something we will cherish always!
I'm sure there are things I've left out. I know I've tried many, many recipes from Pinterest. Some worth doing again, some never ever will I try again. I will be posting later about my spring cleaning list andd how Pinterest has inspired it as well. Stay tuned!
