Yes, that's a giant yellow duck. Here's the story: When I was 8 or so, Kyle (who was 1 or 2 at the time) both got stuffed ducks in our Easter baskets. They were so cute, dressed in little raincoats, hats and galoshes. EXCEPT that mine was white and his was yellow. I wanted the yellow one. My mom and dad said I couldn't trade that the bunny had brought me the white one so that's the one I got. I might've pitched a teeny little fit about this. Well lesson learned! 20 years later I still receive a yellow duck in some form or fashion on Easter. One year, my mom was visiting me and left 36 mini yellow rubber ducks in my bathtub, one year I was visiting them and she put yellow duck window clings all over my bathroom mirror. I have A LOT of yellow stuffed ducks. She asked Kyle if I could now have the yellow duck and he said no. Little turkey, like he actually wants it, he just doesn't want me to have it. Ha, ha! Sibling love!
Then it was on to dying eggs! After carving pumpkins, we decided we needed to start another tradition.
Notice there are 3 missing, yeah we cracked them. They were delicious!
On to Easter dinner... I offered to host Christopher's family for dinner. Needless to say, I had fun preparing everything. I especially loved getting to use my china, now that I have it all out of the boxes now that I have my china cabinet.
Okay, so I ended up not wearing the hat to church. I didn't want to stick out. I went with Christopher to his church and I could just imagine what people would say: "Did you meet Christopher's girlfriend?" "Oh, yes, The girl whose hat blocked our view?" Good thing I didn't wear it. I would've been the only one. I'm hoping Kate Middleton will help bring back the hat. As previously posted, I have a thing for hats.
Southern Living, no?
The other eggs I dyed, for place cards. (And yes, I poked holes in them and blew them out and used them for my cake. THAT was a task!)
Christopher's grandparents, Ed & Betty, with their eggs. Aren't they precious?

On to Monday night. Our lovely city is in the news for something besides pregnant teenagers and murder (this is how others view my lovely city, I love where I live I don't want anyone to think otherwise, if you don't believe me read this). The Grizzlies are in the playoffs!!!!!
